The market for trading commodity options is simply a venue where producers of goods are given the chance to buy or sell a commodity at predetermined and fixed rate. Much like a farmer who is given by an insurance firm the right to collect on a particular plan in the event that his properties catch fire, traders of commodity options may also sell their options at a particular price if prevailing market rates go lower.

There are two kinds of commodity options. One takes the task of insuring products in case their current market price drops, while the other insures products that are bought against price increases.

Buyers in commodity options market have the right and not the obligation to exercise their options.

Case in point, if a person decides to sell soybeans for $4 per sack, the commodity options market is the one that provides the opportunity for a trader to do so by paying the rate that has already been pre-agreed. If each sack is currently priced at only $5 each, then the commodity options trader has the option to sell his holdings for only $5 an then pocket the extra $1 as profit from his exercise.

Commodity options has two basic types: the call option and the put option. The call option gives you the right to buy the underlying commodity, while the put option gives you the right to sell the underlying commodity, all based on the price that has already been set.

Here are some common jargon used when trading commodity options:

Underlying commodity

This does not refer to the commodity itself, but the futures contract for that particular good. For instance, the option for December corn is the option for a December delivery of the corn future contract.

Strike price

The rate that was predetermined and set before the options were distributed is the called the specified price or the strike price. This is rate by which the underlying commodity may be traded at any time within the given time frame in the options contract.

Expiration

Commodity options’ value are based on the future contracts of the underlying commodity. Thus, there is a given date upon with the options are expected to mature and expire. Options traders can choose to hold on to their assets until the last minute in the hopes of obtaining a bigger value for their options, but analysts caution against this because the longer you hold on to the options, the greater the risks involved.

Traders who were unable to exercise their options are likely to see their holdings turn void and worthless once the expiration date has lapsed.

Option premium

This is the amount that is paid to the option writer to obtain the rights granted in the option. It is determined by public voting and is likely to change every day.

There are still many things that need to be discussed about commodity options trading and it is simply not enough to read one article about it. Scour the Internet for more information or ask the experts about it. Do not attempt to enter this industry if you are not armed with at least the basic concepts.

There is a wealth of information on just about anything available on the Internet. A person can simply type any word on the search engine and it will quickly churn out thousands upon thousands of direct and related data on the given subject. This is the same for the trading market.

With the advancements in communications and information dissemination, it is not impossible for data on past and real-time trading to be available online. There are even options for people to conduct trading transactions directly via the Internet so they won’t have to leave the comforts of their home.

There is a multitude of web sites that cater to the trading of options and futures. Not only do these sites give advice on how to conduct trades, but also provide techniques and strategies so traders will be able to get the maximum values possible for their investments.

Options and futures trading sites also showcase charts, for easier market tracking, as well as other tools, like currency converters, tickers and how-to articles.

Examples of these sites are Futuresguide.com, Numa.com, Futures-buying-guide.com, Optionstradinglessons.com and chforum.org. There are a lot of sites that offer various types of data not only on futures and options but on other financial instruments, as well. All you have to do is do a quick Google search.

Web sites of exchanges, like the Cboe.com of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, also provide information on how to handle futures and options trading.

You may also be able to open either accounts with sites like Tradeindex.co.uk and Cantorindex.co.uk, among others. Of course, we mustn’t forget financial journals or newsletters, like the Wall Street Journal or The Financial Times, to gain the latest updates on options and futures movements.

Most trading sites also have message boards and fora where members can directly connect with fellow members to discuss trading itself. The boards are divided into several categories, included among which are subjects on futures and options trading.

Through the fora, traders are able to keep themselves updated with new strategies and industry news. Not only that, they are also able to chat with other people to compare trading experiences and share information.

Because the Internet is fast becoming a primary communication and resource hub for many people, not just financial traders, it is inevitable that one day all transactions will be made online. So while it’s still fresh, you better get a good head start and scour the Net for sites and resources on options and futures trading.

Like futures, an option gives you the right, but not the obligation, to buy an underlying stock at a specified price at a predetermined date in the future.

You earn a profit if the stock’s market value rises above the price by which you acquired your contract upon the agreement’s expiry. If the stock’s market value drops, then you lose your premium.

There are two forms of options: the call option and the put option. If you buy a call option, you are expecting your stock price to go up and you would prefer the put option if you expect the opposite, meaning you expect prices of your stock to decline.

You actually earn a profit regardless of whether the price of your stock goes up or down unlike other derivative instruments where you only earn a profit when the price of your stock rises.

Hedging strategies are used if you are not sure whether the price of your stock will rise or go down. In this case, you will opt to buy a Put option on your stock. If the price actually goes down, then you earn a profit, but if it goes up, you merely lose your profit.

It is also important to remember that if you think your stock will go down, it is best to sell your stocks and earn a profit from it and just purchase put options.

Another strategies traders engage in are selling their options before it expires to buy the underlying stock, let their contracts expire or sell their options. Selling options is actually not a problem as there are agencies responsible for buying these options in order to maintain balance in the system.

You might want to join options forums so you’ll have access to valuable tips that you may not otherwise find in trading books. There are also various online options trading sites that offer free tutorials as well as membership in the exchange.

Like most investments, you also need to be updated about the economy and the different business players if you want to buy options on stocks about their company. It is important to have a good gauge of which businesses to look out for and to trade on.

Armed with enough information, you will be ready to expand your money through online options trading.

In conclusion, if you are risk averse but would want to maximize your investments, then online option trading might work best for you. But of course, you have to equip yourself with as much knowledge as you can.

One of the more common strategies to obtaining massive profits when trading commodities is buying options. It is interesting to trade using commodities as they make excellent speculation vehicles, due to the fact that they are subject to supply and demand movements and may rise and fall intermittently.

If you’re the type of investor who seeks instant gratification for your financial decisions, then buying options might not be your best bet. This is because options eventually use their value over time. They expire — and a person who takes a gamble on the expensive ones might only see himself losing so much more when things don’t turn out right.

The strategy

To sum it all up in one statement, you should only attempt to buy options for a profit when particular commmodities have been dwindling for a considerable period already or are hovering just around their lowest levels for a number of years.

Once you’ve found these, you should then purchase out-of-money call options that have at least one more year to go before expiring and then hope that their value eventually shifts higher.

Identifying what these commodities is really not so difficult. Commodities can range from a sack of nuts to a barrel or oil or what-have-you. However, the only commodities that you can use to boost your option buying wins are the ones that are listed on the futures market. Such commodities include the likes of sugar, wheat and coffee and even copper, gold and crude oil and its many permutations. In short, food stuffs we encounter everyday.

When researching which commodities you’d like to bank your options against, check a commodity’s history. This can be done by looking at long-term charts (usually over ten years) to be able to get an idea of a product’s high and lows over the past decade.

Then, look for call options that have either been at the losing end of a massive corporate sell off or been dwindling at consistent record lows. Options that are considered volatile (or those that are too dependent on market movements) should be scrapped off your list.

With this strategy, expert advice does not really make the cut. To be able to gain profits by purchasing options in commodities, you have to step out of the loop for a bit, because, ironically, ignorance will do you good at this point. Sometimes, the expert advice given by the people in the loop might only hamper you from trading and might even create doom and gloom scenarios that are uncalled for.

As soon as the market moves higher, you then sell around 25% of your stakes to be able to gain some form of profit. You can also do this if the papers are starting to talk about the particular commodity to gambled in. You should only sell off the remaining stake you have when the market turns parabolic.

Perhaps the most important tip of all is to stay calm if nothing is happening. You should never force a trade to happen. In fact, some say that once you have purchased an option under a commodity, you should forget about it altogether and quit the urge to monitor it every single day. If you see that nothing is happening, leave it alone.

Ulimately, when trading options under commodities, play only with what you can afford to lose, just to be on the safe side. This particular strategy we have here is actually more tricky to execute than it looks, so it might take a while before you finally get that big win. Start small and practice.

Futures trading is a risky business. It is a financial gamble. And, like any gamble, you will never know when you will win and when you will lose. The key is simply to play the game based on the cards you are dealt with, what you know about the market so far and hope for the best.

Many traders are lured into futures trading because of the great rewards it can potentially bring. However, you must keep in mind the rule of opposites, in that with great rewards, also come great downfalls. Futures trading, because you’re gambling with something that is yet to happen, is nowhere near accurate.

This can also happen when you’re dealing with options, because, the value of underlying options are basically placed against futures contracts. When you acquire options, more likely than not you will get them at a discounted rate based on the price of the product at the time they were issued.

Many find stock options trading attractive because it allows people to acquire stock at a discounted price. With this procedure, holders of stock options hope that the shares’ value will increase within the period of time given so that they could sell at a higher price and generate a profit.

Options may be exercised at a given time in the future and at the rate at which they were issued, but the holders stand to gain or lose depending on the value of the options at the given future date. Thus, when you really look into the nature of futures and options, they are very similar and related.

Trading Options and Futures: Some Tips

Trading options and futures requires research on your part

Futures trading involves 4 investment categories: namely, speculation, growth, inflation hedges and income. Without adequate knowledge of these four, you won’t be able to move freely in the trading market and might even cause yourself to lose.

Do not simply rely on somebody else to do the research and understanding for you. Being able to make intelligent decisions, no matter how inaccurate, will sometimes make the difference between a win and a loss.

You should invest no more than 10% of your net on futures.

Futures trading should not be your first foray into financial trading because it involves a considerable investment. You should only do it when you’re confident that you have enough knowledge and that your other investments are working out for you.

The market is unpredictable.

No matter what experts say or predict will happen to the market months or years from now, nobody will be able to make perfect forecasts. Therefore, if you’re planning to invest your hard-earned money into financial trades, do not put all your eggs in one basket.

While it is possible that you will make a fortune out of this risk, it is also likely that it will be the one that will send you to the poorhouse. Tread carefully.

The good thing about options is that because they are exercised at a specific time frame and its rates are based on a set price, the risks that you stand to face are controlled and limited.

If you are buying call options, you are likely to benefit from this condition. On the contrary, if you are selling put options, you may keep the value of the options you laid out on the table if these are not picked up and bought within the time frame specified.

Be reminded that stock options are named such because these are actually options. These shares are special and unique in the sense that the are different and are treated differently compared to the regular and normal stocks and shares traded in the market.

The price tags are also somehow different most of the time to the current and prevailing stock prices of a particular stock. Usually, stock options are traded at premium prices, or in other words somehow higher than the usual trading price of the stock in the market. But this is a very small price compared to the amount of protection options give you against risks, compared to common stocks.

Some stock option holders choose to wait until the last minute to exercise their stock, in the hopes of seeing the value rise further, but experts against this technique, because you could end up profiting a lot less than what you could have gained had you done so earlier.

Options distributed for a variety of reasons, but most of them are according to the following:

- companies want to retain their top performers and attract good candidates from outside with incentives

- companies want their staff to feel accountable for the company’s performance by making them feel as if they are partners or owners in the business

- companies want to hire workers who are skilled in their chosen fields by offering incentives and compensations that are attractive

If you are risk averse but would want to maximize your investments, then online option trading might work best for you. But of course, you have to equip yourself with as much knowledge as you can.

Aside from stock trading, perhaps two of the more popular trading instruments in the financial market today are options and foreign exchange.

The two are separate entities in that forex involves soley currencies, while options can represent a variety of stock representations. Also, forex are bought and traded freely in the market, while options are usually given as rewards and compensations boosters for executives are exercised under a pre-determined rate and time frame.

Forex trading

Forex trading, short for foreign exchange trading, involves the buying and selling of the many currencies of the world. It does not operate via a central exchange site, like traditional stock market trading, and may, thus, fully function a 24-hour basis.

When compared to other exchanges, the forex trading market is the largest in the world, even beating the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) by over a hundredfold, in terms of daily trading volume, most of which are conducted by private entities and individuals.

Because of the absence of a central exchange, forex trading happens between two parties directly. Buyers and sellers communicate and trade via the phone, the Internet or other communications networks worldwide.

In addition, trading forex is also speculative, meaning, they are based on expectations on whether a certain currency would rise or fall, depending on current market conditions. It is risky business, but the returns have often proved themselves worth the risk.

Options trading

There are two forms of options: the call option and the put option. If you buy a call option, you are expecting your stock price to go up and you would prefer the put option if you expect the opposite, meaning you expect prices of your stock to decline.

Options are given out for a variety of reasons, but most of them are according to the following:

- companies want to retain their top performers and attract good candidates from outside with incentives

- companies want their staff to feel accountable for the company’s performance by making them feel as if they are partners or owners in the business

- companies want to hire workers who are skilled in their chosen fields by offering incentives and compensations that are attractive

It is also important to note that options have expiration dates. The expiration date is the deadline set by both parties on when the stock option should have been traded or sold. The option should not stay for too long on an investor’s hand because doing do would make it void, especially after the expiration date. If this lapses then the value of the options is considered void and worthless.

Now that you know the basic concepts behind forex and options, it will be easier for you to understand the nature of their movements in the market. However, a grasp of the basic ideas is not enough, for both are equally tricky to delve into. It suggested that you seek more literatute on the two subjects to gain a more solid ground.

Options are perhaps the most versatile of all the trading instruments in the market today. They cost a lot less to transact than stocks. And because of this, traders are able to considerably limit the risks linked with a certain transaction.

There are basically two kinds of options: call options and put options. Call options give the trader the right to purchase assets, while the put options give yout the right to sell.

The expiration date is the deadline set by both parties on when the stock option should have been traded or sold. The option should not stay for too long on an investor’s hand because doing do would make it void, especially after the expiration date.

Best put, holders of put options have the obligation to sell, while holders of call options have the obligation to buy.

How are options traded?

It is definitely as easy as trading regular stocks and equities in the stock market.

There are buyers and sellers of stock options that abound and roam around the market.

There are issues that are thrown at stock option trading. One of these issues is the question on the timing of the granting of such stock options.

Because stock options are usually given to top executives, some people and analysts are suspicious that those executives determine the proper timing for the issuance of the stock options.

They would, according to allegations, intentionally make the timing coincide with the low pricing of stocks. Because when the stock prices are low, more options could be given to the recipients.

These executives can then choose to hold on to their stock options until the time when share prices are rising. Thus, they generate more money from the stock options trading transactions.

That issue and problem regarding stock options is now being reviewed and looked at by different regulating agencies around the world.

If you leaf through the business section of major broadsheets, you will mostly likely notice that some company executives are given what are called options as part of their annual salaries or as bonuses for jobs done well.

But what are options, really? Are they similar to stocks? What does it mean when they say options are exercised? These are some of the options questions whose answers we will learn in this article.

Options are similar to stocks in a way that they also can be traded in the stock market.

However, holders of options can only buy or sell, thus, ‘exercise’, their options at a given price and at a specific time frame. Stocks trading may be conducting at any time of the day as long as the session is progress, whereas options trading happens at a predetermined time and at a predetermined rate.

You should also bear in mind that options are not accessible to just about anymore. Again, such instruments are only awarded by company board’s to people who have shown impressive performances during their tenure, unlike stocks, which are open to be purchased by people both in and out of a certain company.

You might notice that most of the present times’ news about options trading are negative. Where executives are often accused of backdating their options, or setting the timing of the options at times when the stock value is low, so they can sell their options and gain profits when share values go up.

Regulators and authorities are currently cracking down on such activities and many companies and executives have already been found guilty.

The good thing about options is that they help shield traders from volatile market conditions. As mentioned earlier, options allow individuals from buying a low stock price and selling at a later set date for a higher value. The transaction is relatively safer to move in because it is more predictable than trading stocks.

It is not that difficult to learn options trading, again, because you don’t really have much market movements to track given its fixed time frame. Also, since they are actually ‘options’, you can choose not to exercise them immediately and wait for values to rise before you sell, thereby allowing you to maximize your gains.

At this point, we must highlight that options have expiration dates. Nope, they don’t last forever, so they must be exercised before the expiry date lapses. If you hold on too long to your options, you might stand to lose.

This can be a little tricky, especially if a certain companies value goes up and down intermittently in the days leading to the expiration date. If this happens, it is suggested that you sell immediately when the values are high and not try to tempt fate by holding out until the last minute.

Options trading, after all, no matter its fixed nature, is still a gamble. While it is not as risky as stocks, you still have the responsibility to maintain enough foresight and prudence to know when to go forth and when to stop.

For beginners in the options trading market, the thought of having to spend for formal courses is a turn-off, especially if they are still deciding whether to get into the industry or not.

If you are one of these people and are still unsure if options trading will present you a sound investment opportunity, then you might want to first try out the information that is available for free on the Internet.

Options trading and other financial instruments are not things you should toy with, because they can spell huge losses if you’re not careful. Thus, for a person who is just starting out and trying to understand the basic concepts, there is wealth of information avaiable online, free of charge.

Some brokerage firms offer free online trading for a specific period (usually a month) if you subscribe to their service.

So if you are interested in saving up on broker’s fee when you’re finally ready to get into the industry, you might want to try these free services out especially if you are just starting out and is merely keen on trading a few stocks.

Indeed, technology has given us cost-saving opportunities to place our investments. However, some of these free online trading services do not offer you the entire package. If you are not a regular trader and if you are new to the market and would only try trading for a month, you could avail of these free services. But be careful in choosing your provider.

Research and compare your options. And most importantly, make sure that they have the right trading equipment to make your investments work for you, after all, it is your money that you’re going to be gambling on, so might as well invest a little in making sure that you are well-prepared.

As said earlier, free options trading information found online can only do so much as give you a rundown of the terms to remember and the basic concepts. They will not give you tips on how to maximize your money, unless they truly want to help, and will not share with you tricks and tips that have already been tried and tested by professionals and experts.

Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch. While the Internet can provide you a lot of knowledge about the options trading industry, you will find that there still remains more to learn when you finally try your hand at actual trading.

You can save a little without having to enrol in expensive training programs by buying a software package that focuses on options trading. Most of these software not only give you enough information about the business, but it will also allow you to operate on simulated trading environments, to give you a more detailed look into how options trading operates.

Or, if you’re really the cheapskate that you say you are, you can always seek the advice and assistance of friends who are already dabbling in the options trading market. Chances are they will give you free advice. But, don’t expect them to be at your questions’ beck and call, though.

Options trading software are important tools for many traders, brokers and financial investors who wish to organize and develop their investment options. It keeps them on track with day to day trading activities and allows them to monitor every move and save past transactions for future reference.

With the Internet emerging as a key communication venue for many individuals and businesses all over the world, not only has it broadened links between entities but also widened the scope of investment opportunities for both professionals and non-professionals.

Having a reliable options trading software tool in handy helps boost a trader’s understanding of the industry he is in and allows him to buy and sell stocks with greater ease.

Features of trading software

Stock predictor

Since there are tickers, options prices are recorded in the archives. Thus, analysis of everyday and every hour movements of options prices would help infer and predict a particular stock’s future and possible stock price movements.

Currency converter

Because cross-border investments or foreign investments can now be possible, there are a number of stock trading software that include currency converter.

For example, US-based investors can place in investments at the Tokyo Stock Exchange. By using a software, the US dollar is converted into Japanese yen. Thus, the investor would know how his money is worth when converted into a specific currency or denomination.

Ticker

When you are watching business news channels, you would see tickers. Tickers are the bar that is placed at the lower part of the screen.

A ticker contains company names and the equivalent stock price that goes with the stock at current time. Tickers are very helpful to investors and brokers because they indicate whether an option is declining or is rising.

Chart tools

A chart tool makes use of the stock price data. These information are then converted into charts so the viewer, analyst or investor can easily track and monitor the movement of a particular stock. This makes life easier for such trading people.

There are more than enough reasons why technology firms and developers have come up with options trading software or special computer programs that are aimed at fully equipping the modern and bury stock market trader and investor.

For one, the rising and fast-expanding demographics and number of stock market trading investors are truly encouraging. This poses a development and a vast array of opportunities for companies who specialize in developing software for every particular need.

Stock trading is constantly evolving. Each day is a brand new day, full of challenges, surprises and significant market movements within the vast and diversified stock market.

Some people are instantly intimidated by the mention of the words ’stocks’, ‘options’ and ‘financial investments’ and buckle down during conversations. Others immediately dismiss these topics, thinking that if they sound complicated then maybe they are equally and overly difficult to comprehend and learn.

If you are one these people, then you’ve come to the right place. When faced with jargons like these, you must realize that these are merely words and that they actually have meanings that may be easily understood even if your economics background harbors only on the basics.

However, if you are bent on taking the financial investment industry a serious shot, then you might want to enrol in certain courses to keep you up to par with the professionals of the time.

Let us talk about options for this purpose. There are a lot of courses about options trading available in bookstores and online. A quick type into the search engine of ‘options trading course’ will result in thousands of institutions and companies offering both free and feed information about the world of options trading.

Since the Internet already provides a wealth of knowledge about options trading courses, you might find no need for a book anymore. But, hey, if you want something you can physically leaf through, then it’s your choice, really. But for this article, we will be focusing on choosing the right options trading course for you.

There are different levels and offerings for options trading courses. If you are a beginner in the field, you might want to try something simpler, like the basic how-tos to jumpstart your know-how. Choose an online course that comprehensively tackles all the concepts and jargon related to options trading and pick those that discuss the matter in a way that is easily understood by you.

Don’t get too technical yet as it may only cause you confusion. Stick to the basics first until you get a solid footing on the key concepts, before you move on to the twists and turns, and try to learn the tricks and shortcuts to options trading.

There are courses that come for free. You might want to take advantage of this free information if you’re just starting out, just to get a firm grasp of the ideas. However, if you’re already on a more advanced stage, you might want to try out the professional courses being offered online, even if they come with a certain fee.

Options trading is no joking matter, so it is advised that you learn from the experts themselves and not just from any free site that may or may not give you the right knowledge.

The risk of trying to gain free courses online is that the instructions might not be as reliable, as opposed to the paid courses. However, this is not to say that all paid options trading courses are legitimate and reliable. Thus, you must exercise extreme caution and scrutinize each product first before you make a commitment.

Of course, nothing beats the kind of knowledge you obtain from experience. Once you finish an options trading course, you should expect to learn a lot more as you begin actual trading. And with market conditions constantly evolving, who knows what else you will discover along the way?

A lot companies, as a form of rewards or bonuses to executives who have contributed largely to the firm’s growth and success, hand out stock options with executives’ annual compensations.

Stock options are much like the stocks traded in the sharemarket, but differ in the sense that stock options may only be exercised under a predetermined price and within a specified time frame.

The definition of stock options

To make it simple, stock options are simply benefits or rights given to high-ranking executives (though some firms already award the same to rank and file staff) to purchase a specified number of stocks in the company at a specific time and rate.

Both private and public companies can offer stock options to well-performing employees. These are distributed for a variety of reasons, but most of them are according to the following:

- companies want their staff to feel accountable for the company’s performance by making them feel as if they are partners or owners in the business

- companies want to retain their top performers and attract good candidates from outside with incentives

- companies want to hire workers who are skilled in their chosen fields by offering incentives and compensations that are attractive

Many of the companies that offer stock options are start-ups, because they are working to reel in the best talent without having to pay such an excessive monetary salary.

Trading stock options

Many find stock options trading attractive because it allows people to acquire stock at a discounted price. With this procedure, holders of stock options hope that the shares’ value will increase within the period of time given so that they could sell at a higher price and generate a profit.

It is for this reason that most employees choose to accept a job or stay with a particular company — because stock options are present opportunities for people to earn much more than the cash salary they are due.

It should be noted, however, that stock options have expiration dates. Thus, the holder is obliged to do something about his options before the final date to trade lapses, otherwise, his options will become void.

Some stock option holders choose to wait until the last minute to exercise their stock, in the hopes of seeing the value rise further, but experts against this technique, because you could end up profiting a lot less than what you could have gained had you done so earlier.

Stock options trading is not without its share of risks and it does not always follow that they are a lot better than cash salaries, because their sale value can eventually fluctuate over time, especially if the company is dwindling. Nevertheless, stock options present a viable alternative to companies that want to either get the best people on its team without the need to shell out too much cash for compensation.

There are many tools you can use to determine how high your financial investments have grown or fallen and, thanks to the Internet, most of them are available for download, free of charge. If you’re an options trader, a quick run through Google will have you browsing through hundreds of options calculators and software to help you arrive at more solid investment decisions.

Advanced Option Calculator

One of such tools is the Advanced Option Calculator, which a software that is to be used exclusively by option traders. The key features of the Advanced Option Calculator include the power to calculate implied volatitily, the ability to determine fair values for call and put options, a better understanding of Greek characters, as well as primary statistics governing the analysis of option positions, such as your maximum possible loss or maximum prossible profit.

Standouts in this calculating tool are provisions on the mathematical expectations of loss and the mathematical expectations of earnings.

Stock Options Secrets 3.5

This options calculator is best for those who want to track under and overpricing mistakes. While it does not provide datafeed support, it is considered a handy tool because it can find historical and implied volatility, determine pricing probabilities, as well as potentials for gains or losses, and allows you to calculate risk.

In addition, Stock Options Secrets can also simulate and test options strategies to see what works best for your particular trading situation and map out scenarios that will allow you to earn profits over the long haul. Like the Advanced Option Calculator, it can also find the Delta, Vega and Gamma of trades.

FC Options Calculator

The FC Options Calculator will give the chance to analyze option prices. This tool can calculate theoretical options market prices; values of Greek characters to determine option prices and view price graphs and charts. It also employs the option price calculation model espoused the Fisher Black and Myron Scholes, called the Black-Scholes. It is available for download free of charge, but it has a 60-day limit.

OptDvr Options Calculator

The good thing about this options calculator is that is able to assess both the European and American options styles using the Binomial and Black-Scholes models. This is a great software for those who are just starting out in options trading because it is novice-friendly. Downloading it does not cost a single cent, though it expires after 30 days.

There are many other options calculators that may be downloaded from the Net. While nearly all of them offer the same basic features, there are devices that cater to the advanced traders and there are those that are a perfect fit for beginners.

Know which level you are in first before you decide to download anything. Of course, as with any other Internet move, make sure that you’re only downloading the software that you need and keep your Anti spyware application on alert.

When we talk about financial markets, the first thing that comes into our minds is the word ’stocks’. The term has been used so many times in the papers and financial fora that it has become a staple in a lot of conversations and discussions about the subject of market movement. However, there is another financial investment instrument that also offers great rewards for those who choose it. And it is in the form of options.

Options are similar to futures, wherein you are given the opportunity to purchase a stock at a particular time and at a pre-determined price. As a trader, you stand to gain if the stock’s value in the market goes beyond the rate you specified under the agreement you signed with options. If the stock value drops, of course, you lose what you invested.

With the advent of technology and the ever-growing popularity of financial trading and stocks, even options are starting to see their better days in the Internet. Since our world today is fast becoming one and inter-linked, it is inevitable that options trading would go the online route, like most trading instruments nowadays.

Online options trading scraps the need for you to physically do face-to-face trading, because you can simply log on to an options exchange channel over the Internet and comfortably complete your business there. As with the traditional options trading, your key goal remains making the best profits and least losses possible. The difference is simply the venue.

So how you win in the online options trading market?

Again, there really isn’t a great difference between online trading and traditional trading, so the desired ends stay the same. And because you’re trading at the comfort of your home or office, where you don’t really have to put up a face and dress up, it is more likely that you will make better financial decisions and not buckle under pressure.

However, the convenience online options trading affords you can also be your downfall, as you might be too comfortable and lax to religiously pore over the information you need to review in order to assure a win. You might already take for granted the rigors of financial study that you bypass and simply click your mouse as you wish.

Hence, to win in the online environment, you must still keep yourself updated. The stock exchange posts market movements in real time so you won’t have any trouble with this. It is important to note, though, that while the Internet is a very powerful and swift communication tool, it can also bog down sometimes and cause you to be minutes or hours short of the real market rate.

In order to get the most out of your online options trading experience, you can log on to Internet fora to discuss with like-minded people your options.

From there, you will be able to glean wisdom from other people’s experiences and make wiser decisions with yours. There are a number of topics that may be discussed in online fora, and you can even directly chat or exchange correspondence with other forum members for a more detailed approach.

Keep in mind, though, that online fora are impersonal, so you should be wary of people who might not have your best interests in mind. You will only be able to judge their personalities based on what they write, as opposed to people you meet face to face. It is, therefore, wise not to immediately mark as truths the advice you get online without making a review yourself.

The online options trading market is easy to operate, because it really just involves a few clicks of the mouse. However, bagging a win is a different story and requires the same intelligence and foresight needed when dealing with traditional means. Trade wisely.

People who are not very familiar with financial jargon are likely to immediately buckle upon the sound of the words ’stocks’, ‘options’ and ‘financial investments’ and fall silent during conversations.

Let us talk about options and futures trading for this purpose. There are a lot of courses about options trading available in bookstores and online. A quick type into the search engine of ‘options and futures trading course’ will result in thousands of institutions and companies offering both free and feed information about the world of options and futures trading.

Since the Internet already provides a wealth of knowledge about options trading courses, you might find no need for a book anymore. But, hey, if you want something you can physically leaf through, then it’s your choice, really. If you’re a resident of Los Angeles, there are a number of schools and brokerage companies that offer courses and classes about options and futures trading.

Online Trading Academy in Los Angeles

One of the more popular trading schools in Los Angeles is the Online Trading Academy, which opened just this year, which provides professional training courses on financial products and trading instruments for traders residing in the Ventury County and Los Angeles areas.

The Online Trading Academy boasts of being the only trade training facility that offers classroom simulations of real trading environments and makes use of the company’s own capital, without risk to the student.

The OTA in general, not just its Los Angeles, branch, has direct links with RushTrade, the NASDAW, FXStreet.com and CyberTrader.

Students may attend classes at the school’s offices or by enrolling in the online courses. Both novice and professional traders will greatly benefit from the line-up of courses available on Options, Day Trading, Futures, Swing Trading, Investment Theories, Currencies and Position Trading.

A lot of people say there really is nothing to day-trading options. And there really isn’t — that is, IF you have the proper background. There are some people, however, that fall to common mistakes made during trading and end up losing a lot of money because of their ignorance.

Here are some of the mistakes usually associated with day trading:

Overtrading options

You don’t need to trade options for every day during the entire time frame given to you and hold multiple positions in the market to ensure a win. Some traders have this misconception that more cards are laid out there, the greater is the chance of them winning. This is not Bingo. You can’t put it all out there, lest you stand to lose all of them at the same time.

Trade wisely. Study market movements and see when the best time to put out is. Save your trading capital for good days and hold out on dubious period. The active trader is not always the wisest trader on the block.

Lack of emotional control

Often, when a reasonable profit has already been reached, some traders opt to hold on and refuse to close in anticipation of a higher value, which usually does not come.

Do not stay in the market longer than you should, even if that little voice in your head tells you that there might still be a chance that values would rise. Trade the next day if you want a greater win. Just don’t place all your money in just one trade at one time. If you feel the time isn’t right, don’t make a move.

Lack of planning and solid day trading system

Because trading is greatly influenced by economic and political events, you must learn how to map out a trading plan that would reap the best possible benefits for your options.

Creating a trading plan will help in certain surprise situations, like the sudden downfall of a resource stock because of an unforeseen hurricane. It will help you determine what courses of action are available before any instance of such sort happens.

While options’ values are already fixed based on a predetermined price, the responsibility of exercising them wisely still lies on your ability to time your selling and buying activities. Remember, markets rise and fall all the time, so it’s not enough that you rely on the fact the prices are already set.

No Commitment

Day trading requires constant monitoring. Thus, if you are unable to commit your time and review market movements and study financial trends, you might as well throw yourself off a trading cliff.

Trading involves deals with sporadic market conditions and should therefore be studies frequently. People who want to engage in day trading should commit not just their time to the actual trading session itself, but also to learning about new methods and strategies outside of it.

The FTSE is a worldwide and independent firm run by the London Stock Exchange and The Financial Times and is tasked to manage and create financial indices.

Professionals turn to the FTSE everyday for the tools and information they need to develop strategies that would help boost their investment portfolios to the greatest level possible.

Such professionals include, fund managers, investment banks, consultants, brokers, stock exchanges and the like. It maintains partnerships with companies and stock exchanges all over the world, in a bid to create a uniform way of handling international investment.

And because the FTSE hosts a plethora of global, regional, fixed income, alternative investment, non-market and governance indices, it is but inevitable that options are part of its roster of instruments traded.

The FTSE implements a tight set of policies and procedures on transparency and governance to make sure that all its indices are investment-worthy and easy to monitor.

Among its requirements are that all stocks should adhere to liquidity screens and must be free float adjusted and that all indices should have a set of guidelines that are easily accessible by the public.

Options trading on the FTSE does not deviate from the basic concepts of options trading itself. That is, prices at still set at predetermined price and exercised at a predetermined time frame.

What the FTSE offers differently is the venue, but options trading can generally occur in just about any other trading floor in the world.

The FTSE’s roster of global indices include the FTSE All-World Index Series, the FTSE Global Style Index Series, The FTSE Emerging Markets, The FTSE Multinationals Index Series, The FTSE Global Sector Index Series and the FTSE Gold Mines Index Series, among others.

Its list of regional partners include the FTSE UK Index Series, the FTSE/ASEAN Index Series, the FTSE Hong Kong MPF Index, and the FTSE NASDAQ Index Series.

As you may well notice, the FTSE makes majority of its business in the UK. This is because it is owned by European companies. Hence, the options trading activities that occur in the FTSE are mostly European in nature.

At present the FTSE services clients and indices in more than 77 countries. What began as a small operation in 1995 now holds 11 offices all over the world, and even in key business areas in the the US, Africa, Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
