Soybeans are one of the most traded commodities on the Chicago Board of Trade because they are easily grown and serve a number a uses.

Initially, George Washington Carver saw that soybeans may be used as a substitute to cotton as the sole profit maker in the South, after which he discovered that they may be utilized to make plastic, paints, inks, varnishes, linoleum and even fuel.
